Jan 2017 - Medals galore at the Gloucestershire County Championships with Gold for Kristina in the womens sabre eveny and Gold for Sam Horne in the Junior event at the age of 11.

 

Nov 2016 - More medals for Jane, Michelle and Chris at the Veterans Commonwealth Games held in Christchurch, New Zealand.

Nov 2015 - Alex Foster 5th at Hereford and worcester

 

oct 2015 - chris 8th in cat B ms at worlds vets in Limoges: Jane 5th and michelle 12th in cat A ws

 

Sept 2015 - chris, michelle and jane in sw vets team that retained winton cup for 7th yr in succession

jane and simon won sw titles in ws and ms respectively

 

July 2015 - Kristina Rudenoka took gold at the Cardiff open

21 july-31 aug  club will be using 58th Bristol Scout Hall, Gadshill Road, BS5 6LJ while QEH is being refurbished. Reminders will be issued on website, by text and by email. From junction 2 of M32, travel towards, Fishponds, turning right at second lights by Queens Head Pub, then right and right again into Gadshill Road - Hall is at the end of the road.

June 2015 - another good month for medals at  Vets age qualifiers(2 gold + 1 silver) and Leon Paul(gold) at Malling .Layla Wyatt also won the Navy championships title

 May 2015 - excellent results at vets Europeans in Porec with peter wright in L16 of MS cat 1, Jane silver and Michele 13 in WS cat 2, chris making L8 in MS cat 3. Medals also from Wellington open, Herts open and Hampshire open(Zsolt- 3 golds and Michele - 2 silvers) plus Luton open(Clive - silver)      

March 2015 - In vets nationals, Pete Hutton made L8 and Clive Ambrose-Williams  L16 in MS while Michele took silver and Jane a bronze in ladies event

 Nov 2014 - Stuart Dixon(Wales) and Jane Hutchison(England) were both selected for senior commonwealth champs in Largs. At the vets commonwealth champs, also in Largs, Pete Hutton and Michele Narey both took bronze medals while jane won the gold in a tense final. Chris took gold at 60+ category after a close-fought fence-off with Aussie, Alex Sherbakoff.

 Oct 2014 - at the vets world champs in Debrecen, Chris was 12th in his first year in MS cat B, while Jane collected a bronze and Michele came 13th in cat A of the ladies event  

 

 

Feb 2014 - Jane once again made the final of the ladies event in vets' nationals but lost out to Beth Davidson who also defeated Michelle in the semi-final. Chris narrowly missed a place in the men's final
so had to be content with a bronze this year.
In the club's annual contest, Zsolt beat David in an exciting final while Michelle defeated Jess to win the ladies trophy.

Nov : Stuart Dixon came 8th at the welsh open with Zsolt close behind in 10th, Will Fotherby 20th and Clive Ambrose-Williams 33rd. Jane and Michelle made last 32 with Caron 42nd and Layla 51st.

Oct: At the vets worlds in Varna, Jane took the bronze in ladies cat A, losing to her rival Janshen in the semis. Both Chris and Dennis failed to make the last 16. Michelle took bronze in the ladies event at Coventry

Sept: Zsolt Czinkota was crowned SW champion in MS. Zsolt and David made last 16 in MS at the bristol open. Jane secured bronze in the ladies event with Michelle and Jessica also making the last 32; Layla and Caron came 36 and 37 respectively. At vets winton, Chris again captained the SW MS team to victory, being unbeaten over the 2 days. At the hamlet, Zsolt and Jane both made the last 32; Layla came 47 in the snr event and 29 in the cadet competition.


At the age qualifiers in january, Chris , Jane and Dennis all qualified to represent GB at this year's world championships in Bulgaria in October
Jane took silver in ladies cat 2 at the nationals in march and followed this up with a bronze at the Europeans in May. Michelle Narey took bronze at the nationals and came 13th in Cat 1 at the Europeans
Chris successfully led the England MS team to victory in the quads, held in Dublin during May

junior ladder 2012-13
For the first time, the junior competition has been run on a monthly basis over 12 months. Overall winners were: U17 - Layla Wyatt, U14 - Joe Page, U11 Zac Lambert

Andy Walls was the overall winner, retaining the men's title, while Michelle Narey took the ladies trophy

H&W
David Pinot secured a bronze in this year's event while Jessica Venn came 12th in the ladies event in
her first competition for the club.

jane hutchison came 9th in the cat 2 women's event whilst chris Prevett came a disapointing 18th in the men's event,knocked out ih the DE by eventual bronze medallist, Thierry Jamgotchian of France

BYC 2012
Layla Wyatt just missed out on a medal in coming 5th at this year's U16 girls' competition. A great result after just moving into this agegroup.

European vets team  champs, Kalmar, Seden
well done to Jane and Michele for their contribution to the sabre women's team gold medal at this year's competition.

Vets national championships
Kevin Nelson was placed 25th in the men's event while Chris Prevett went on to secure a bronze plus the Cat 2 medal. Jane Hutchison surprisingly went out in the quarter finals but both Chris and Jane have been selected to represent England at sabre(chris as men's team captain) at the quads match in April as well as selection for the 2012 european team event in Sweden in May and the world championships in Austria in october 

SW BYC qualifiers
Hunt-Roeder had entries in 4 categories this year. Dillon Bayliss(u12) and Jonathon Salt(u16) faced some stiff opposition in their first competition but gave a good account of themselves nevertheless. 
Joe Page narrowly missed qualifying in the U14 event but Layla Wyatt secured selection by taking the silver medal in the girls U14 competition




2012 Glos open
Hunt Roeder came away with three medals from this year's competition. Michelle Narey secured silver in the ladies event while Kevin Nelson took the bronze and Chris Prevett the gold in the men's event.





2011 Club junior competition
Seventeen juniors battled it out over 3 weeks to establish the 2011 champion and in a very keenly fought final which went right to the wire, Luke Walter overcame Jon Salt 10-9 to take the overall trophy and U16 boys title. Layla Wyatt came third and retained the girls U16 title while Jacob Lambert came fourth and claimed the U13 boys title. The U11 boys title was shared by Dillon Bayliss and Zacchary Lambert. Thanks to Kevin and Kerr for helping with refereeing and to all the parents who helped to ensure everyone was kitted out in time for their appearance on the piste.

2011 World vets
In very strong Cat 2 events at this year world championships, held once again in Croatia, fortunes were mixed during the poule stage but both Chris and Jane went out in the quarters, both losing to the eventual gold medallist and being placed eighth overall.






2011 European vets
Jane Hutchison went out in the semis to arch rival Janshen from Germany to bring home a bronze medal in womens Cat 2 event. Dennis Hunt took 15th place in Cat 4 MS and Chris Prevett 13th place in Cat 2 MS





2011 BYCs
congratulations to Layla on gaining 10th place in this year's U14 girls event in the national championships. Overall winner was Shreya Anil who was until recently a member of the club and has been coached by Dennis Hunt. Also well done to Joe Page for securing 31st place in the U12 boy's sabre, adding to his 33rd placing in the U12 foil.






Junior club competition

this year we  had a clear winner in Layla Wyatt who lost only one fight, with silver going to Jon Salt. All who participated, including recent beginners had a memorable evening with plenty of sibling rivalry to spice things up.Thanks to all who took part including Jane and Kevin for refereeing.


Nottingham

Andy Walls improved on last year's perfomance in this event to take 7th place this year. Well done, Andy


Senior Club competition
In a fiercely-fought contest, Andy Walls was the 2010 overall winner, thereby taking the men's trophy, while Jane Hutchison came second and retained the ladies trophy. Bronze places went to Chris Prevett and Dan Youger. Well done to all who took part.


Vets Nationals

Jane Hutchison came away with the silver medal and cat 2 medal at this year's competition while Chris Prevett only managed 17th place in the men's event , being knocked out in the second DE after losing only one fight in the poules. Both Chris and Jane had already secured selection for the 2011 world championships in Croatia via the age qualifiers in January, by taking gold and silver respectively in men's and women's cat 2 competitions.

SW youth champs

congratulations to Joe Page and Layla wyatt who both qualified to represent the SW at this year's British Youth championships. Joe has also been selected to fence foil as well as sabre

Glos champs
Joe page won the U12 boys and Layla Wyatt the U14 girls at this year's competition. Kerr Temba in his first competition fenced well to secure 11th place in the men's event, while Mike Page came 5th and Chris Prevett came away with a bronze

Vets 2010 world championships, Porec, Croatia

Jane Hutchison came up against some fierce competition in this year's championships as the standard of cat 2 women sabreurs continues to improve. In a close -fought semi-final Jane narrowly lost to Jansen of Germany who then went on to win the gold medal, leaving Jane with a bronze. Chris Prevett went out to Antinoro of Italy in the second DE to finish a creditable13th, the highest placing out of the four cat 2 GB sabreurs.

SW open

The club took four of the top six places at this year's SW open held in Millfield. Daniel O'Neill was sixth, Andy Walls and Steve Gough both secured bronze medals while Chris Prevett took the silver. A Hunt-Roeder team consisting of chris, Andy Daniel and Mike Page came second to a strong Millfield team. Well done to all who took part.

2010 British Youth Championships

Congratulations to Shreya Anil who took the gold in the U12 girls sabre at this year's BYC in Sheffield. Lucy While, after her successes in representing Glos ladies at Excalibur on the saturday, secured a creditable sixth place in the U18 BYC event.

Vets' Age Qualifiers, Luton

Pending successful selection, the 2010 vets' world championships in Croatia now beckon for Jane Hutchison and Chris Prevett at end Sept after their performances in this year's qualifying competition. Jane won gold in the cat 2 for women while Chris came third in the cat 2 men's event. Dennis Hunt just missed out on a medal by coming 5th in the cat 4 for men
